Enactivism
An approach to mind that emphasizes recurring interaction among perception, action, body and environment.
Enactivism is an umbrella term for related approaches rather than one settled theory. It challenges explanations that treat cognition as something produced by the brain in isolation and asks how living activity, embodiment and surroundings participate in understanding.
How should Advanced Intelligence support human learning when human understanding is shaped through participation and context?
Editorial note
Words for the World is a developing educational record. Entries distinguish established findings, developing theories, useful analogies and open questions. New terms are reviewed before they are added.
